Walter Taubeneder (born May 22, 1953 in Ruhstorf an der Rott ) is a German politician ( CSU ) and a member of the Bavarian state parliament.

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Taubeneder began studying to become a teacher, which he successfully completed. In 1978 he worked as a teacher at the secondary school in Aidenbach , where he was later appointed deputy principal. Walter Taubeneder is married and has one son.

Taubeneder has been a member of the CSU since 1971. In the municipal elections in Bavaria in 1984 he was elected 2nd mayor of the market town of Aidenbach. In the following electoral term in 1990 he was elected 1st mayor. He held the office until May 1, 2008. Taubeneder was also the deputy district administrator of the Passau district. In the state elections in 2008 Walter Taubeneder was elected as a direct candidate in the constituency of Passau-West with 46.10% of the vote in the Bavarian state parliament. He is currently a member of the Committee for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Relations.

He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing and of the Broadcasting Council of Bavarian Broadcasting .
