Manuel Westphal (born September 23, 1974 in Nuremberg ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CSU ). From October 2013 to April 30, 2020 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament. Since May 1, 2020 he has been the district administrator of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district .

After graduating from high school in 1994, Westphal completed his military service and training as a reserve officer in Heidenheim . In the state elections in 2013 he won the direct mandate in the district of Ansbach-Süd, Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen and was confirmed in his office in 2018. On March 15, 2020, the citizens of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district elected him as the new district administrator. He took up this position on May 1, 2020, as the successor to Gerhard Wägemann, who is retiring for reasons of age . Alfons Brandl succeeded him in the state parliament .

Political party

Manuel Westphal has been a member of the CSU since 1994. He is the chairman of the CSU local association Altmühltal. In October 2014, Westphal was elected district chairman of the CSU working group on school, education and sport in Middle Franconia . Since 2015 he has also been a member of the state board of the CSU working group for school, education and sport. On May 13, 2015, he was unanimously elected to the board of the CSU district association Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .
