The Erlangen-Stadt constituency is one of around 90 electoral constituencies in elections to the Bavarian state parliament and the district meetings as well as in referendums . He belongs to the constituency of Middle Franconia .
Since the state elections in 2003 , it has included the city of Erlangen as well as the municipalities of Heroldsberg and Möhrendorf in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district . The other communities in this district lie in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district .

history
The electoral district has existed in its current form since the 2003 election. From 1950 to 1970 there was the predecessor district of Erlangen-Stadt und Land , which included the city of Erlangen and the district of Erlangen . After the territorial reform in 1972, the district of Erlangen-Stadt consisted for the first time in the 1974 state elections only from the independent city of Erlangen, into which some municipalities of the district of Erlangen had been incorporated. The unincorporated communities have been part of 1972 and 1974 the Erlangen-Höchstadt and the voting district of Erlangen-Hochstadt on. After the downsizing of the state parliament and the associated elimination of electoral circles, two municipalities from the Erlangen-Höchstadt district, Möhrendorf and Heroldsberg, were assigned to the Erlangen-Stadt district for the first time for the 2003 election . The number of eligible voters in the Erlangen-Stadt constituency would otherwise have deviated more than the permitted 25 percent down from the average of all constituencies.
