Wilhelm Vorndran

Wilhelm Vorndran (* 7. August 1924 in Sondernau , Rhoen , † 4. September 2012 in Erlangen ) was a Bavarian CSU - politicians . He was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1958 to 1994 and its President from 1990 to 1994 .

biography

Vorndran attended the humanistic grammar school in Würzburg . During the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and was taken prisoner by the Soviets in May 1945, from which he returned in July 1949. He made up his Abitur in 1950 in Ansbach . This was followed by a degree in law and political science at the University of Würzburg , University of Cologne and University of Erlangen . He was a member of the K.St.V. Rhenania Erlangen and the K.St.V. Rheno-Frankonia Würzburg in the KV . He successfully completed his legal clerkship in 1954 and received his doctorate in 1956 on "The scale according to canon law". He passed his assessor examination in 1957. Until 1972, he worked for the Deutsche Bundespost as senior post councilor and head of the post office in Erlangen.

Political career

Wilhelm Vorndran was one of the founders of the Ring of Christian Democratic Students (RCDS) at the University of Erlangen . For two years he was deputy state chairman of the RCDS. He was also the district chairman of the CSU Erlangen-Stadt. From 1981 to 1989 he was the state chairman of the CSU Lawyers' Working Group and from 1972 to 1978 State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs. From 1978 to 1988 he held the post of State Secretary in the State Ministry of Justice. From October 1988 to October 1990 he was State Secretary and Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery . He was then elected President of the Bavarian State Parliament and held this office from October 24, 1990 until the end of the 1994 legislative period.
