Herbert Huber (politician, 1935)

Herbert Huber (born February 3, 1935 in Landshut ; † January 3, 2016 there ) was a German economist and politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and graduating from high school in 1954 at the humanistic grammar school in Landshut, Huber began studying economics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , which he completed in 1961 with a degree in business administration. At the same time he completed an apprenticeship as a butcher, which he completed with a journeyman's examination. In 1959 he passed the master's examination in the butcher's trade at the Passau Chamber of Commerce . After completing his studies, he worked as a lecturer at the Passau Chamber of Crafts.

Huber initially worked as a specialist teacher, worked as a director from 1967 to 1990 and became the owner of the First Bavarian Meat School in Landshut in 1979. In 1988 he was supported by the University of Regensburg to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In addition, from 1972 to 1994 he was a member of the Broadcasting Council of Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR). In 1996 he became President of the Film-Fernseh-Fonds Bayern GmbH (FFF).

politics

Huber joined the CSU in 1966, became a city councilor in Landshut in the same year and was chairman of the CSU parliamentary group there from 1972 to 1990. From 1971 to 1982 he was chairman of the CSU district association in Landshut, from 1976 to 1997 deputy chairman of the CSU district of Lower Bavaria and from 1993 to 1995 a member of the state board of the Christian Socialists. In 1970 he was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament, to which he was a member until his resignation on March 31, 1996. From 1987 to 1990 he was chairman of the committee for regional development and environmental issues. In addition, he had been chairman of the CSU film commission since 1973.

Huber served as State Secretary in the State Ministry of the Interior from October 30, 1990 to June 17, 1993 , from June 17, 1993 to October 27, 1994 as State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery and from October 27, 1994 to November 15, 1995 as State Secretary in the State Ministry for State Development and Environmental Issues in the governments of the Free State of Bavaria led by Prime Ministers Max Streibl and Edmund Stoiber .

Social Commitment

For 25 years, Huber was the site representative of the Landshut Technical Relief Organization, for which he was awarded the title of "Honorary Site Representative" in 1993.
