Fritz Baer (Ministerial Director)

Fritz Baer (born August 7, 1901 in Pyrbaum ; † November 14, 1993 in Planegg ) was a German civil servant and lawyer.

Life

After graduating from the Humanistic Gymnasium in Bamberg, he studied law in Würzburg from 1921. From 1922 to 1925 he studied in Munich and returned to Würzburg for his doctorate in 1926. He embarked on a career in the Reichsfinanzdienst and in 1939 became head of the foreign exchange monitoring office at the Oberfinanzpräsidium in Munich. In 1941 he was promoted to the Upper Government Council .

After the end of the Second World War, he was director of the Munich-Land Tax Office from January 1, 1946, and Head of Department at the Bavarian State Office for Asset Management and Reparation from June 1, 1946. On July 4, 1946, Prime Minister Wilhelm Hoegner appointed him as Government Director and, from December 1946, Ministerialrat in the Bavarian State Chancellery . There he was initially head of the state office at the state council of the American occupation area and from 1948 first representative of Anton Pfeiffer , then Karl Schwends in the administration of the State Chancellery. In 1957, Prime Minister Hanns Seidel appointed him as ministerial director to head the state chancellery and at the same time made him head of the department for policy guidelines and public relations. He carried out these functions under Prime Minister Hans Ehard and Alfons Goppel until his retirement in 1967. From 1960 to 1962 he was subordinate to State Secretary Franz Heubl in the line.

He was a member of the Catholic student associations K.St.V. Ottonia Munich and K.St.V. Rheno-Frankonia Würzburg in the KV .
