Eberhard Sinner (born  November 20, 1944 in Würzburg ) is a German politician . As a member of the CSU , he was a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1986 to 2013 . From 2001 to 2003 he served as Bavarian State Minister for Health, Nutrition and Consumer Protection and subsequently as Bavarian State Minister for Federal and European Affairs , from November 2005 to October 2008 he was State Minister and Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1963, Sinner studied forest science in Munich and Freiburg im Breisgau , which he completed in 1968 with a degree in forestry. He finished his legal traineeship in the Bavarian State Forestry Administration in 1970 with the Great State Forestry Examination . He then entered the service of the Free State of Bavaria and worked first in the State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forests and then from 1974 at the Bavarian State Representation in Bonn . From 1978 to 1986 he headed the forestry office in Gemünden am Main .

family

Eberhard Sinner is married and has two children. His brother Karl Friedrich Sinner was head of the Bavarian Forest National Park .

Political party

He has been a member of the CSU since 1970. Sinner was deputy chairman of the CSU district association of Lower Franconia until 2011 .

MP

From 1978 to 1996 he was a member of the city council of Lohr am Main and has been a member of the district council of the Main-Spessart district since 1978 .

From 1986 to 2013 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament. He represented the Main-Spessart constituency ( Lower Franconia constituency ).

Public offices

On January 30, 2001, he was appointed Minister of State for Health, Nutrition and Consumer Protection in the state government of the Free State of Bavaria led by Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber . From October 14, 2003, Sinner was Minister of State for European Affairs and Regional Relations in the Bavarian State Chancellery . On November 29, 2005, he replaced Erwin Huber , who succeeded Otto Wiesheu as Minister of State for Economics, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, as head of the State Chancellery. He remained in this office under Prime Minister Günther Beckstein . During this time he was the responsible media minister and chairman of the board of MedienCampus Bayern , the umbrella organization for media education and training in Bavaria. After the state elections in 2008, he was not reappointed by Prime Minister Horst Seehofer . He is media policy spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group and representative of the Bavarian parliament in the broadcasting council of Bavarian Broadcasting .

Sinner was also the district chairman of the Bavarian Red Cross Main-Spessart. Sinner is President of the East-West Economic Forum Bayern eV, Chairman of the Media Club Munich eV and 2nd Chairman of the Alliance for Education eV (BfB).
