Ursula Mannle
Ursula Männle (born January 7, 1944 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German social scientist and politician ( CSU ). She was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament and the German Bundestag for 13 years as well as the Bavarian State Minister for Digital, Media and Europe . From 2014 to 2019 she was chairwoman of the Hanns Seidel Foundation .
education and profession
After graduating from high school in 1964, Ursula Männle studied political science, sociology and modern history at the universities of Munich and Regensburg from 1964 to 1969 . From 1970 to 1976 she was an assistant at the Academy for Political Education .
Since 1976 she has been a professor at the Catholic Foundation University in Munich at the Benediktbeuern site .
politics
Ursula Männle has been a member of the CSU since 1964. 1966/67 she was regional chairman of the RCDS . From 1973 to 1977, Männle was deputy federal chairwoman of the Junge Union (JU) , and from 1981 to 1991 she was state chairwoman of the CSU women's union .
Since 1973 she has been a member of the CSU state executive committee, since 1987 a member of the executive committee.
Männle was a member of the German Bundestag in 1979/1980 and from 1983 to 1994 . From 1994 to 1998 she was Bavarian State Minister for Federal Affairs .
From 2000 to 2013 Ursula Männle was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . She was a member of the parliamentary committee of the CSU, spokeswoman for the parliamentary group for federal and European affairs and chairwoman of the committee for federal and European affairs. Until January 14, 2009 she was also the chairwoman of the women working group in the Bavarian state parliament.
Until the state election in September 2013 she represented the constituency of Starnberg ( constituency of Upper Bavaria ) in the Bavarian state parliament. She represents the CSU on the board of the European Movement Germany network .
Honorary positions
From 2000–2011 she was a member of the executive committee of the university teachers' association (hlb). She is the managing director of IN VIA Catholic Girls' Social Work ( Caritas ) and a member of the German Association of Women Academics (DAB) and the Catholic Women's Association of Germany (kfd). Since May 2014 she has succeeded Hans Zehetmair as chairwoman of the CSU-affiliated Hanns Seidel Foundation . Here she was confirmed in office for four more years in 2018, but announced her resignation at the end of the year on September 11, 2019.
