Civis mit Sonde is a quarterly political magazine since 1954 . The addressees of the magazine are, according to its own account, students, scientists as well as members and officials of the Union parties.

Content and authors

Each magazine has a specific main topic and is subdivided into different areas: "In conversation", "Viewpoints", "Contrasts", "On the current occasion", "Read on" and "Met". The starting point is usually a double interview between two prominent public figures. This is usually followed by opinions on the issue as well as articles on current political issues. These are often supplemented by book reviews, correspondence, comparisons or portraits of people.

The authors of previous editions include Angela Merkel , Wolfgang Schüssel , Sebastian Kurz , Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger , Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg , Eckhard Jesse , Manfred Weber , Jens Spahn , Alexander Graf Lambsdorff , Friedrich Merz , Peter Tauber , Armin Laschet , Julia Klöckner , Thomas Strobl , Martin Jäger or Bernhard Vogel .

editor

The current editors are Mario Voigt , Dorothee Bär , Ursula Männle , Arnold Vaatz , Matthias Wissmann and the current federal chairman of the Ring of Christian Democratic Students (RCDS).

history

The magazine emerged from the union of the magazines Civis and Sonde . Both come from the circle of Christian Democratic Students .

The Civis was founded in Marburg in 1954 by Johannes Gross and Rüdiger Altmann . Structurally, he saw himself as the theoretical organ of the RCDS, which at that time primarily had basic civic positions as the content of its policy. Accordingly, the Civis was primarily addressed to students of all subjects who were open to Christian-social, conservative and liberal ideas. After an interruption in the 1970s, the Civis was reissued as an RCDS publication in the early 1980s. In doing so, it had acquired a more scientific profile, but had always remained the theory journal of the RCDS Federal Association.

The probe was founded in 1969/70 under the leadership of Wulf Schönbohm . The longstanding members of the editorial team included u. a. Hans Reckers , Friedbert Pflüger and Stephan Eisel . In the early days, the magazine also acted as the mouthpiece of the then RCDS federal executive committee, but from the beginning had a different direction than the Civis .

In 1995 both journals merged to form Civis mit Sonde . An organizational bond with the RCDS federal executive exists through the co-editing of the incumbent RCDS federal chairman. In 2014 the magazine was redesigned. Since then, the magazine has been published online as an eBook as well as in print.

editorial staff

The editorial staff of the magazine is currently headed by Carl-Philipp Sassenrath as editor-in-chief. Michael Lönne acts as managing director.
