Udo Kamps

Udo Kamps (born July 15, 1959 in Wegberg ) is a German university professor . He holds the chair for statistics at the Institute for Statistics and Business Mathematics at RWTH Aachen University .

Life

From 1979 to 1985 Kamps studied mathematics with a minor in economics (Operations Research) at RWTH Aachen University, and from 1985 worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Statistics and Business Mathematics there. In 1987 he received his doctorate and in 1993 he was a substitute for a chair at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. The habilitation took place in 1992. After receiving a Heisenberg scholarship in the statistics department at the University of Dortmund , he became a university professor for mathematics in April 1997 with a focus on the mathematization of economics at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg. From 1999 to 2004 he held the chair for mathematics with the denomination of statistics and business mathematics at the University of Oldenburg.

Udo Kamps has held the chair for statistics at the Institute for Statistics and Business Mathematics at RWTH Aachen University since 2004.
