Alexandra Hiersemann (born October 21, 1960 in Cologne ) is a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1979 in Düsseldorf, she studied law at the University of Würzburg between 1979 and 1988 and graduated with two state exams. In the following two years she worked as an assistant to the management at a non-profit addiction aid company in Munich. From 1990 she was a consultant for constitutional , legal and municipal issues of the SPD parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament .

After marrying the SPD politician Karl-Heinz Hiersemann (1944–1998) and the birth of a son, she took up parental leave from 1994 to 1997. She has been working as an independent lawyer since 1999 and advises the SPD parliamentary group. In addition, she was the deputy chairwoman of the state arbitration commission of the BayernSPD .

In the state elections in Bavaria in 2013 , she moved into the Bavarian state parliament via the list in the constituency of Middle Franconia. Since 2016 she has been deputy Chair of the Submissions and Complaints Committee . In February 2017, Hiersemann criticized the CSU's decision to continue to deport rejected asylum seekers to Afghanistan despite the uncertain situation. In 2018 she moved back into the state parliament via the list.

Hiersemann is widowed and has one child.
