Stefan Schuster (born September 1, 1959 in Nuremberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He is a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Life

After completing secondary school in 1974, Stefan Schuster completed an apprenticeship as a social security employee at AOK Nuremberg. Since 1979 he has been working as a fire fighter with the Nuremberg Fire Brigade, most recently as an operations manager. There he was a member of the staff council (since 1986) and chairman of the staff council (since 2000).

Stefan Schuster joined the SPD in 1977, where he was particularly active in the working group for employee issues. After the Bavarian local elections in 2002, he moved up to Eberhard Irlinger in the Bavarian state parliament , to which he has been a member, via the Middle Franconia constituency list . Until 2008 he was a member of the committee for municipal issues and internal security, a member of the committee for public service issues and deputy chairman of the parliamentary control body, and he was security and police policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

In the state elections in 2008 he ran unsuccessfully in the Nuremberg-West constituency , but was re-elected to the state parliament via the Middle Franconia constituency list. Since then he has been deputy chairman of the committee for public service issues and also spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group in this area, deputy chairman of the parliamentary control committee and spokesman for the group for fire-fighting policy issues. Since April 2016, Stefan Schuster has been chairman of the regional group of Central Franconian SPD members of the state parliament. Schuster is currently a member of the committee for municipal issues, internal security and sport in the Bavarian state parliament.
