Silesian Gorals
The Silesian Gorals ( Polish Górale śląscy , Czech Slezští Goralé , Teschener dialects : Gorole ; literally mountain dwellers ) are a West Slavic ethnic group and subgroup of Gorals living on the Polish - Czech border . They speak Teschener dialects as well as Jablunkau dialects of the Polish Silesian dialect , with Czech influences.
distribution
In Poland, the Gorals live in the higher valleys of the Silesian Beskids , especially in Brenna , Istebna and Wisła . In the Czech Republic they live in the eastern Moravian-Silesian Beskids near the town of Jablunkov .
In the north-west they border on the Teschener Walach , in the east on the Saybuschen Goralen, in the south on the Tschadsa Goralen .
Representative
Probably the most famous person is the former ski jumper Adam Małysz from the Silesian Gorals .
Classification
Wincenty Pol divided the Silesian Gorals into four subgroups:
- Brenna Goralen ( Polish Brenniacy ) (1),
- Vistula Goralen ( Wiślanie ),
- Jablunkauer Goralen ( Jabłonkowianie ) (3), but the town had its own bourgeois group Jacki ,
- Moravians in Morávka , Krásná and Pražmo (4), but the talk already Lachish ;
