Ram Da-Oz

Ram Da-Oz ( Hebrew רם דע-עוז; * October 17, 1929 in Berlin ) is an Israeli composer .

Life

The son of the umbrella and stick manufacturer Heinz Daus emigrated to Palestine with his parents in 1934 . From 1945 he studied oboe and piano at the Tel Aviv Conservatory . During the Israeli War of Independence in 1948 he was wounded and went blind . He then studied composition at the Israel Academy of Music in Tel Aviv until 1953 and settled in Haifa as a freelance composer . He composes orchestral pieces, chamber music works, piano pieces and songs .
