The Latvian Institute ( Lat .: Latvijas Institūts) is a Latvian cultural institute whose task is to present the country to the outside world.

The seat of the institute is the Latvian capital Riga . Aiva Rozenberga is the head of the institute (since 2016).

History and activity

The institute was founded in 1998 on the instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers and is part of Latvia's foreign cultural policy .

The institute's task is to make Latvia better known abroad. In addition, the institute offers information on regional, cultural, economic, historical, social and tourist topics. The “Facts about Latvia” series of publications is published in various languages. In the anniversary year 2018 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Latvian independence , the Latvian Institute is entrusted with the international program of the 100th anniversary celebrations.
