Laudomia Piccolomini

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Laudomia Piccolomini (* between 1410 and 1415 ) was an Italian noblewoman.

Laudomia was born as the daughter of Silvio Piccolomini and Vittoria Forteguerri. She was the sister of Enea Silvio Piccolomini, later Pope Pius II , and Caterina Piccolomini.

Laudomia married Nanni di Pietro Todeschini da Sarteano (also Giovanni Todeschini Piccolomini). Since Eneas Silvio was the last of his family tree, he adopted Todeschini and took him into the family. Todeschini took over the coat of arms of Laudomia and added the name of Piccolomini to his surname, creating the line of Todeschini Piccolomini. Laudomia's sister, Caterina, married the nobleman Bartolomeo Guglielmini in 1430 and founded the Guglielmini Piccolomini line.
