Laurence R. Iannaccone

Laurence Robert Iannaccone (/ ˌjɑːnəkoʊni / Yahn-ə-KOHN-ee, * 24. May 1954 ) is a professor in economics at Chapman University in Orange County, California .

Before moving to Chapman University in 2009, he was a Cooking Professor of Economics at George Mason University . On "Religion, Economy and Culture", he founded an interdisciplinary "Working Group for the Study of Religion, Economy and Culture" (ASREC), and a new "Consortium for the Economic Study of Religion" (CESR). He is currently working on two books on the subject of "Economics of Religion". He is considered to be a pioneer in this field and the greatest advocate.

Iannaccone has an MS in Mathematics. In 1984 he received his PhD in economics from the University of Chicago .
