Laurent Mosar (born February 8, 1958 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg politician of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV). Between 2009 and 2013 he was President of the Chambre des Députés .

Life

Mosar, a son of the politician Nicolas Mosar , who not only MP but also Energy Commissioner of the European Commission and ambassadors was studied after the school attendance law and was then as a lawyer working.

In June 1979 he became a member of the CSV. On July 18, 1994, Mosar was elected to the Chambre des Députés for the first time and has been a member of the CSV ever since. During his long membership in parliament, he was President of the Committees for Media and Communication and Legal Affairs from August 1999 to June 2004, and most recently from August 2004 to June 2009 President of the Committee on Finance and Budget.

In addition to his parliamentary work, he was also a member of the Luxembourg City Council from 1997 to 2000 and has been a member of the Luxembourg City Council since November 2005, after having worked as an alderman ( shepherd ) .

After he was Vice President from August 2004 to June 2009, he was President of the Chambre des Députés from July 28, 2009 to the end of 2013, and thus President of Parliament .
