Loudspeaker Teufel is a German manufacturer of audio products, including loudspeakers , headphones , hi-fi and home theater systems , streaming and Bluetooth loudspeakers. The company was founded in Berlin in 1979 and employs over 200 people in development, marketing, sales, administration and the company's own flagship store . Teufel products are only available through direct sales .
Further locations of the company are Hamburg , where the warehouse and logistics are located , the Chinese agency with a total of 20 employees, supply management and sales is located in Dongguan / China, and Berlin Acoustics, Inc. is located in Lewes , Delaware / USA, which is responsible for the local sales of Coordinates the multi-room and streaming brand Raumfeld. Teufel has had a branch in Essen since August 2018. A branch was opened in Cologne at the end of October .
history
Loudspeaker Teufel was founded in 1979 in Berlin by Peter Tschimmel. In the initial phase, the company produced and sold loudspeaker kits made of pre-assembled crossovers, drivers and cabinet components. The first products were the speaker sets LT 1 to LT4.
In 1987 loudspeaker Teufel moved to Stromstrasse in Berlin-Moabit. With the M 200 loudspeaker and the associated M 6000 subwoofer, Teufel offered the first fully assembled loudspeakers.
When the DVD was launched in 1995, Teufel offered the first surround speaker set, thus laying the foundation for Teufel's home theater division. 2006 took over financial investor Riverside the Teufel GmbH of founder Peter Tschimmel, 2007, the company moved to the Bülowbogen in Berlin-Schöneberg. The online activities were expanded under the new managing director Thorsten Reuber . With the Ultima and Consono loudspeaker series , new product lines were added to the range.
In 2010, the financial investor HG Capital took over the company from Riverside. At the same time, Teufel integrated the Berlin startup Raumfeld, which has been developing and selling multiroom streaming speakers since 2008 .
In 2012, the Dutchman Edgar van Velzen succeeded Thorsten Reuber as managing director. Above all, he expanded international business and added new categories such as Bluetooth loudspeakers to the range.
In 2016, the previous head of Sales & Marketing Sascha Mallah took over the management of loudspeakers Teufel, together with Joachim Wimmers.
