The Lava Tongue Pass ( English for Lava tongue pass ) is a mountain channel with a north-south course in the Royal Society Range of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It bisects the Radian Ridge at an altitude of 1850 m .
The New Zealand Geographic Board gave the pass its descriptive name in 1994 based on a solidified lava flow that fills the pass.
