Lazar Branković
Lazar Branković († February 20, 1458 ) was a Serbian despot who ruled from 1456 to 1458.
He was the third son of the despot Đurađ Branković (approx. 1375-1456) and his wife Eirene Kantakouzene (approx. 1400-1457). During his reign, the Ottomans ruled most of Serbia .
progeny
1446 married Lazar in Smederevo Helena Palaiologina (approx. 1430-1474), daughter of Thomas Palaiologos , despot of Morea and prince of Achaia , and Caterina Zaccaria of the principality of Achaia. The following children were born from this marriage:
- Elena (Maria), wife of Stjepan Tomašević , last despot of Serbia and from 1461 to 1463 last king of Bosnia .
- Milica Branković, wife of Leonardo III. Tocco , despot of Arta .
- Jerina Branković, wife of Gjon Kastrioti II , son of Georg Kastriota , called Skanderbeg, and Donika Kastrioti .
