Le Roi David , with the German title König David , subtitled Symphonic Psalm , is an oratorio by the Swiss-French composer Arthur Honegger based on a drama by René Morax . It was initially conceived as a stage play, written within a few months and rehearsed and on June 11, 1921 Théâtre du Jorat in Vaud place Mezieres premiered.
