Leander Winkels

Leander Winkels (* 1996 in Düsseldorf ) is a German author. At the age of 13, he was the youngest author to be recognized by the Frankfurt Book Fair 2009.

Leander Winkels speaks Japanese and in 2008 came second in the Japanese speech competition organized by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. A year later he was able to win this award with a speech about Godzilla films and was rewarded with a trip to Japan .

He began writing his first book, the fantasy novel The Flower of Evil , while on a cruise. He gave the book to his grandmother on his 75th birthday. In March 2010, at the Leipzig Book Fair, he presented an expanded version of The Flower of Evil , which was published under the title black and white .

Leander Winkels is the son of the literary critic Hubert Winkels .
