Leandra Columberg

Leandra Columberg (* 1999 in Zurich ) is a Swiss politician ( SP / JUSO ) from Dübendorf . In the 2019 cantonal elections , she was elected as the youngest member in history to the Zurich Cantonal Council. She has been President of the Young Socialists Zurich Oberland since 2018.

Activity as a Cantonal Councilor

Leandra Columberg ran on March 24, 2019 in fourth place on the SP list in the Uster district. With 4466 votes, she reached third place in the list, which meant she was directly elected to the Cantonal Council. On May 6, 2019, she was sworn in at the constituent meeting of the Cantonal Council, and as the youngest member of the Council, she was allowed to give the opening speech. Columberg is a member of the SP parliamentary group as well as the Business Audit Commission (GPK).

She submitted her first proposal on June 3, 2019. In the form of an interpellation , she called for LGBTI- hostile aggression to be recorded in the canton of Zurich.

According to his own statements, Columberg was politicized during a stay abroad in the USA and because of the SVP's enforcement initiative. At the age of 17, she joined JUSO Zurich Oberland , where she soon became a member of the board and took over the presidency after about a year. Since 2018 she has also been a member of the board of the SP Dübendorf. In May 2019 she was nominated as a candidate for the JUSO Canton of Zurich for the 2019 National Council elections.

Columberg grew up in Dübendorf and attended the Uster Cantonal School from 2012 to 2018 . She works as a campaigner for the SP Canton of Zurich. In autumn 2019 she wants to start studying law at the University of Zurich .
