Leandro Paiva , full name Leandro Gastón Paiva Santurión , (born February 15, 1994 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

The 1.55 meter tall midfielder Paiva, known by his teammates as "Tortuga" (turtle), whose father died of cancer in 2008, lives with his mother, two sisters and three nephews in the Barrio Tres Palmas . He has also had a son since he was 19. Paiva started playing soccer in the so-called baby fútbol at Club Cohami. After failing to assert himself in trial training at the two Montevidean clubs Defensor Sporting and Danubio FC , he ended up with the Montevideo Wanderers , for whom he has played since the "preséptima". After he always acted in the storm before, he was retrained in the U-16 by coach Alfredo Arias to the central midfielder. Paiva has been a member of the first division team since at least the 2013 Clausura . For the Montevideans, he played one or two games in the Primera División in the 2012/13 season, depending on the sources . In the 2013/14 season he played up to nine first division games, won the Clausura with the team in 2014 and was Uruguayan runner-up. In the 2014/15 season he played in 16 other Primera División games. This was followed by three more premier league appearances in Apertura 2015. He could not record a personal competitive goal success. From the end of February 2016 to the end of July 2016 he was in the ranks of the second division club Oriental de Football , for which he played seven league matches (one goal) during this period. He then moved to Deportivo Maldonado within the league . In the 2016 season he played five league games (no goal) for the Southeastern Uruguayans.
