With the concept of living labor named Karl Marx ( Capital ) the value-creating process of human activities. The distinction between the living and the objective work components was decisive for his labor theory of value .

Living work usually uses work equipment or means of production into which living work has already flowed. It shows itself in the course of time (work and manufacturing process), while objectified work is depicted as value in space. With the manufacture of the means of production, labor would be enriched, as it were. This “ objectified work ” through living work represents a dormant potential that people activate more or less appropriately through living work.
