Lech Andrzej Janerka (born May 2, 1953 in Wrocław ) is a Polish rock musician , singer, bassist and composer. In the 1980s he was the leader of the important Polish no-wave band Klaus Mitffoch .

Live and act

At the end of the 1970s Janerka appeared in a duet with his wife Bożena. They performed together at student music festivals. In 1979 Janerka founded the band Klaus Mitffoch , with whom he recorded the album of the same name in 1984, which is considered to be one of the most important albums in Polish rock history. Shortly afterwards he left the band and devoted himself to a solo career. He did not achieve any major commercial success, but is nevertheless considered a very important representative of Polish alternative rock. He has received several awards, including two Fryderyks for the album Fiu fiu… .

In 2011 Janerka was awarded the Krzyż Oficerski Orderu Odrodzenia Polski .

style

Janerka combines many genres in his work, including rock, folk and blues, from which he has built his own characteristic style. His music is mostly assigned to alternative rock . He is known for his abstract, sometimes absurd texts. His style is considered formative for a later generation of Polish rock music, such as Marcin Świetlicki , Maciej Maleńczuk, Tymon Tymański .
