Live and act
Jahr received his doctorate in 1930 at the University of Göttingen under Gerhart Jander with a thesis on " Structure and breakdown of high molecular weight inorganic compounds in solution using the example of molybdic acids ". He followed Jander as an assistant at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, Berlin-Dahlem, and in 1935 at the University of Greifswald .
After the Second World War he was appointed Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the Free University of Berlin in the Soviet zone of occupation in 1954 . His last publications appeared in 1968.
