description

The church building was built in 1826. The Scottish architect William Stirling is responsible for the design . Possibly was David Hamilton involved.

Lecropt Church is isolated between the M9 and A9 several hundred meters west of Bridge of Allan. The church building is designed in the neo-Gothic perpendicular style . On the northeast side there is a massive bell tower with pinacles . Originally, members of the Stirling clan entered the building through the portal at the base of the tower, while the community used a portal on the side facade. The interior with its stucco ribbed vaults and cross vaults is of particular interest. On the tower side there is a gallery belonging to the Keir family . The crypt of the Stirlings is accessible via an exit at the choir .
