Leendert van Dis
Leendert Frans van Dis (born August 20, 1944 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch rower .
At the Olympic Games in 1968 Leendert van Dis and Henricus Droog finished second behind the Bulgarian boat in the double scull in the second run of the competition . In the first semi-final, the boat from the GDR won ahead of the Bulgarians and the Soviet two. The second semi-final was won by the US boat in front of the boat from the Federal Republic of Germany and the Dutch. In the final on October 19, the two boats that had occupied third place in the semifinals fought for the Olympic victory. The winners were Alexander Timoschinin and Anatoly Sass almost one second ahead of Droog and van Dis, behind won the US boat bronze medal before the Bulgarians and the two German boats.
The 1.94 m tall Leendert van Dis rowed for the Amsterdamse roeivereniging Willem III .
