Alexander Ivanovich Timoshinin
Alexander Ivanovich Timoshinin ( Russian Александр Иванович Тимошинин ; born May 20, 1948 in Moscow ) is a former rower from the Soviet Union. He won two Olympic medals.
Timoshinin, who rowed for Dynamo Moscow , won his first Soviet championship title in 1968 after Anatoly Sass , who was twelve years his senior , formed a double scull with him . At the Olympic Games in 1968, the two Russians won the regatta course in Xochimilco by one second.
At the beginning of the 1972 Olympic season, Timoshinin formed a new double scull with Gennady Korschikow, born in Leningrad in 1949 . At the Olympic Games , the two won by less than a second. Timoshinin had won his second Olympic gold medal. 1973 Timoshinin and Korschikow were second at the European Championships.
