Gennadi Jegorowitsch Korschikow ( Russian Геннадий Егорович Коршиков ; born  February 19, 1949 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a former Soviet- Russian rower and Olympic champion of the 1972 Summer Olympics .

Career

Korschikow, rowing for Dynamo Leningrad, competed in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich with Alexander Timoshinin in a double scull and won the gold medal on September 2, 1972, ahead of the Norwegian double scull.

1973 Korschikow and Timoshinin were second at the European Championships in Moscow .

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , he finished 4th with Yevgeny Barbakov .

At the 1974 World Championships in Copenhagen Korschikow was runner-up with the Soviet double four . In 1977 in Amsterdam he won bronze with the double scull.

1971 Korschikow won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Copenhagen .

Korschikow was the Soviet champion in 1971, 1973, 1976, 1977 (double sculls) and 1972 (double sculls).
