Blank media are unrecorded storage media . Usually this means image and sound carriers . This includes the following blank media:

  • Data CD-R / -RW
  • Blank audio and video carriers, blank DVDs ( analog / digital )
  • Unrecorded sound carriers (analog / digital)
  • Blank video cassettes

In Germany, among other things, the sales price of blank media includes a flat-rate remuneration that is collected by collecting societies and passed on to the authors and other rights holders.
