The Lefortowoer Tunnel ( Russian Лефортовский тоннель ) is a 2056 meter long tunnel that belongs to the Third Transport Ring in Moscow and is Europe's third longest city tunnel. The tunnel, named after the neighboring district of Lefortowo , was built between 2001 and 2003 and is notorious for relatively frequent traffic accidents. The river Jausa flows over the tunnel and the water penetrates in some places. If the temperature in the tunnel falls below 0 degrees in winter, black ice forms.
