Teaching-learning research

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The teaching-learning research (also teaching-learning research ) comprises the description, explanation and optimization of teaching- learning processes in institutionalized learning situations (a) . It has played a central role in educational science since the empirical turnaround in recent years. Several interdisciplinary chairs were established.

It is not an independent discipline, but combines theories and research of educational psychology and instructional psychology with empirical educational research and specialist didactics . It is about the interaction between teachers and students. Effects of institutions or educational systems are included if they influence this interaction. Teaching-learning research uses empirical methods to test its models and theories .

One focus is on interdisciplinary skills. On the learner side, this includes skills for self-regulated learning , learning with new media and problem solving . On the lecturer's side, this includes general pedagogical skills.
