Alytus teacher training college

The teacher training college Alytus (lit. Alytaus mokytojų seminarija ) was an educational institution for teachers of primary schools ( teacher training college ) in Alytus October 1941 to 1957. The seminar prepared over 800 teachers before. Most of them worked in elementary schools in southern Lithuania .

history

In 1952 the seminar became the Alytus Pedagogical School ( Alytaus pedagoginė mokykla ). The school's founder and its first director was Juozas Mičiulis (1900–2003). The seminar was housed in a few buildings. Now there are two schools here: a primary school ( Alytaus Senamiesčio pradinė mokykla ) and a high school ( Alytaus Adolfo Ramanausko-Vanago gimnazija ). In the first school year of 1941/1942 there were 154 students (57 boys and 97 girls). In 1943 there were 53 graduates. In the last school year there were 71 students (12 boys and 59 girls). There were a total of 15 graduate series, 837 educators were prepared.
