Apprentice breeding

Under Lehrlingszüchterei refers historically the employment of a number of apprentices , far exceeding the required number to obtain the profession goes to have cheap labor and as a result the demand for workers inexpensively from a potentially unemployed to cover profession.

At the end of the 19th century, apprentice breeding was particularly well represented in the trade and in some professions such as the printing industry. Legislation and trade unions tried to contain the problem through laws and collective agreements on the ratio of the number of apprentices to journeymen and skilled workers .
