The Lanz 91 mine thrower was a simple mortar that could be used in the foremost trenches. He had only a rough sight and a relatively short range. However, due to its low weight, it did not need a drive carriage. It was mainly used by the Austrian Army as a replacement for the 9 cm M 14 mine thrower .
