Leidelheim is one of the two historical components of today's local community Hettenleidelheim in the Bad Dürkheim district .

Leidelheim formed the west of the settlement area of the local community. The stump forest is one kilometer to the west . Structurally it has grown together with the former Hettenheim; accordingly, spatial separation is no longer possible.
history
Like all other localities ending in -heim, Leidelheim was founded in the 6th century. The first documentary mention took place in 1267 as Luttelheim , when an arbitration court spoke in a dispute over a plot of land owned by Gerhardus, Arnoldus et Wilhelmus rustici de Luttelheim , translated as The farmers Gerhardus, Arnoldus and Wilhelmus from Luttelheim . In 1481 the community was called Lydelnheim , three years later Ludelnheim and finally in 1555 as Leudelheim . In 1556, Dietrich von Bettendorf caused the merger with the neighboring village of Hettenheim to form a community. Nevertheless, the two villages were run separately until the end of the 18th century. It was not until 1828 that the place name "Hettenleidelheim" was established. In the meantime, Leidelheim is no longer perceived as an independent settlement.
Infrastructure
In the 16th century, Leidelheim, which was Protestant at the time, was a branch of the parish of Wattenheim , including the local St. Peters Chapel , which was located at the location on which today's Catholic Church was later built. At that time there was about one kilometer of land between Hettenheim and Leidelheim that was undeveloped.
