The Leidenharterhof is located one and a half kilometers northeast of Neunkirchen.

history

The original Leidenharterhof was located in the parcel Am alten Leidenhof north of today's hamlet , which is now overgrown by forest . The farm belonged to the Count Palatine in Heidelberg and was given to the respective fief owners of the nearby Minneburg , who leased the farm to a courtier . The oldest mention of the farm is in the 1731 copies of the Minneburg renovation from 1500, in which the farm is named Leidenhof and Schafhof uf Leidenhardt . At that time the farmer lived from sheep breeding and looked after 400 sheep, half of which belonged to the tenant and half to the sheepmen and the castle owners. Sheep breeding offered itself around the farm, as the stony soil of the lands belonging to the Minneburg was partially unsuitable for arable farming. The maintenance of the main building of the court lay partly with the castle owners, partly with the lessee. The sum of 400 sheep is also mentioned in later renovation records, half of which belonged to the leaseholder. In 1603 the farm is still described as being managed. In 1651 it is reported that the farm was completely abandoned many years ago . The complete destruction of the courtyard probably occurred in the Thirty Years' War during the siege of the Minneburg from March 13th to 20th, 1622. Today's courtyard was built in the 18th century south of the abandoned courtyard.
