Achievement badge of the GST
The term performance badge of the GST is a collective term for all performance badges of the Society for Sport and Technology of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which were issued and awarded by this mass organization from 1952 to 1990. The military sports department integrated into this comprised the following areas in which awards were also awarded:
- Military all-around
- Sport shooting
- Motor and news sports
- Aviation
- Maritime sports
- Diving
- Modelling
- Equestrian sport
The already well-known Ernst Schneller Medal and the Ernst Schneller Prize of the GST have received over 200 individual awards over the course of its 38-year history, which are almost impossible to record in full.
