Leithäuser is a German-speaking family name. It comes from the word "Leithaus" ( Middle High German : lîthûs), which means "Wirtshaus", "Schankhaus", which means a house where alcoholic beverages are served. In addition to Leitheusser and Leithauser , variants are mainly Bavarian and Leuthäuser , Leutheuser, Leutheusser , and Leutheusser , also Americanized Lighthizer .
