Karin Schickinger
Karin Schickinger (* 1957 in Baden-Baden ) is a German writer.
Life
Karin Schickinger grew up in the Upper Rhine spa town of Baden-Baden . After graduating from the Richard-Wagner-Gymnasium, she studied chemistry in Freiburg im Breisgau , graduated with a diploma and then worked for the city newspaper for Freiburg. In 1988 she crossed the Sahara on a Yamaha XT 500 before starting an apprenticeship as a car mechanic specializing in motorcycle repair. 1991 followed a traineeship at the motorcycle magazine MO in Stuttgart and several years as an editor. After this experience, she started her own motorcycle magazine, Weib on Bike , in 1996emerged, a motorcycle magazine especially for women, which had to be closed after three issues due to lack of financial resources. Schickinger is a member of the Syndikat , an association of German-language crime writers.
Karin Schickinger now lives as a freelance journalist and crime writer in Freiburg im Breisgau .
