Lelex from Naryka
Lelex from Naryka ( ancient Greek Λέλεξ or Λέλεγες , the eloquent ) is named by Ovid among the participants in the hunt for the Calydonian boar .
Lelex came from the town of Naryka in the Lokris and told the story of Philemon and Baucis , who were worshiped as gods in Phrygia in the shape of two trees. As a respected elderly person, he vouched for the truth of the story.
