Lenka Šmídová (born March 26, 1975 in Havlíčkův Brod ) is a Czech Olympic sailor .

Life

Šmídová took at the Summer Olympics in 2000 in Sydney when sailing in the boat class Europe in part and came in the standings on the 7th Place. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , Šmídová also took part in the Europe boat class. After the Norwegian Siren Sundby and before the Danish Signe Livbjerg she came in 2nd place in the overall ranking and received the silver medal. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , Šmídová was back as a participant. The Olympic women's boat class Europe was replaced by the boat class Laser Radial from 2008 by resolution of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) . In 2008, however, Šmídová sailed with Lenka Mrzílková in the Olympic two-man racing dinghy 470 . They came in 7th place overall.
