Lennar is a US construction company that specializes in building private homes.

The company was founded in 1954 by Gene Fisher and Arnold Rosen as F&R Builders in Miami and served the market in the Miami area. In 1956, Leonard Miller co-owned the company and took over the shares from Gene Fisher. In 1971 F&R Builders renamed Lennar, a combination of the first names of the owners Leonard and Arnold. In the same year the Lennar Corporation went public. By taking over competitor US Home in 2000, the company doubled its size. The merger with CalAtlantic Homes in 2018 created the largest company in the industry in the United States. Lennar has been granting mortgage loans through its subsidiary Universal American Mortgage Company (now Eagle Home Mortgage) since 1981 .
