history

The grain mill dates from 1807 and was previously driven by a water wheel. In 1920 the mill wheel was replaced by a 5 kW turbine. The mill was expanded in 1927 and a 9 kW turbine was also installed. Grain was ground in the still functioning mill until 1993. In the same year the building was placed under monument protection. The mill has been used as a restaurant or café since 1995. Two turbines with an output of 27 kW currently use the Lenne's hydropower to produce around 85,000 kWh of electricity for the in-house power supply.
