Lenoir Chambers
Lenoir Chambers (* 1891 ; † 1970 ) was an American writer , journalist and editor .
Live and act
Chambers served in the 52nd Infantry (6th Division) during World War I and was a member of the American Expeditionary Force .
After the end of the war, Chambers returned to his homeland. First he wrote as a freelancer for various newspapers and magazines. He later got a permanent job with the newspaper The Virginian Pilot ( Norfolk , Virginia ). At the beginning of 1960 Chambers acted as the responsible editor of this newspaper and directed it for some time.

- 1960 Pulitzer Prize for a series of editorial articles on racial segregation
- 1991 inducted into the North Carolina Journalism Hall of Fame
