Leon van Dijk

Leon van Dijk (born March 9, 1992 in Enschede ) is a Dutch football player. The defender was under contract with Heracles Almelo until 2014 .

Career

Van Dijk came from the Enschedese Boys to the FC Twente football academy in Enschede. From there, at the age of 19, he moved to the professional squad of Heracles Almelo . He made his debut in the Eredivisie on March 25, 2012 in a 3-1 home win against FC Utrecht when he came on for Tim Breukers in the 89th minute . He had to wait more than a year for his second competitive game. In the 2012/13 season he was part of the youth team Jong SC Heracles Almelo ; only in the last season game of the professionals at FC Utrecht coach Peter Bosz sent him in the 82nd minute for Dragan Paljic .
