Leonardo Semplici (born July 18, 1967 in Florence ) is a former Italian football player and current coach . As a player, he played in defensive midfield for teams like Lucchese, Sorso and Cecina. Most recently, he coached the Serie A club SPAL Ferrara from 2014 to 2020.

Career

Semplici ended his career as an active footballer on July 1, 1991. He then worked as a coach with the teams of Sangimignano (2004–2005), Figline (2005–2009), AC Arezzo (2009–2010) and AC Pisa (2010– 2011). In July 2011, he became the coach of the U19 team at Fiorentina , before moving to SPAL Ferrara on December 8, 2014 . He led the club from Serie C to Serie A. In February 2020, the club at risk of relegation fired him.
